Starting January 1, 2026, Air Canada is moving to a spend-based model. You’ll earn Aeroplan points based on how many dollars you spend on eligible Air Canada flights.

Earn Aeroplan Points by Flying with Partner Airlines
You can earn Aeroplan points when you fly with any of Air Canada’s 50+ partner airlines.
You’ll earn Aeroplan points based on how far you fly and your fare class.
Premium Economy and Business earn a higher percentage of points compared with discounted Economy fares.
Plus, if you’re flying with Air China, United Airlines, or the Lufthansa Group, you’ll enjoy extra recognition as an Aeroplan member with coordinated elite benefits.
Starting January 1, 2026, flights ticketed by Air Canada (ticket number beginning with 014) and operated by Copa Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, or United Airlines, will move to the new spend-based model.
You’ll continue earning based on distance for all other eligible partner airlines.

Aeroplan also partners with Starbucks, LCBO, Uber, Journie Rewards, and Chexy. These partnerships give you even more ways to earn. You just link your loyalty accounts or provide your Aeroplan number at checkout to earn Aeroplan points automatically.
