The Flying Blue program uses dynamic pricing for award flights, so there isn’t one fixed value when you book flights with Flying Blue miles.
However, you can generally expect to get around 2 cents per Flying Blue Mile in value when you book flights with Flying Blue miles.

Make sure to select the option to book with miles at the top.
You’ll see results showing Flying Blue pricing for available flights with Air France, KLM, and partner airlines.
From the results screen, you can sort by cabin class, departure and arrival time, total duration, or price.
The calendar view is handy to check out other dates.

Generally speaking, economy fees are comparable to other programs.

You can book any flight that has award availability. However, the number of miles you need will change based on demand, destination, and cabin class.
Flying Blue redemptions use dynamic pricing. So the miles required will vary day to day, even on the same route.
Air France and KLM offer plenty of options for Canadians, with direct flights to Europe from major cities. Including Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver.
Economy flights between Canada and Europe start at 25,000 miles one way.
Business class start at 60,000 miles, giving you an opportunity to fly in lie-flat comfort, excellent service, and great food.
With the monthly Promo Rewards, your award price can drop by 25%; a business class flight can be as low as 45,000 miles one way.

Book Flights with Flying Blue Miles with Partner Airlines
You can also book flights with Flying Blue miles with partner airlines, giving you access to destinations far beyond Air France and KLM routes.
You can book flights with Flying Blue miles across the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and beyond.
Flying Blue uses fixed-price partner award pricing based on distance. There’s no public chart to check the pricing in advance, though.
Booking flights with Flying Blue miles with partner airlines, like WestJet, is most lucrative when cash rates are high. That’s especially true during peak travel season or for last-minute flights.
Many times, you’ll need less points than directly with the partner’s reward program, like with WestJet.
Keep in mind that partner awards have more limited availability, since each airline controls how many seats they release to Flying Blue.
Flying Blue partners open up opportunities to book flights to regions that other loyalty programs don’t always reach easily from Canada.

It’s a great value, especially during peak travel like Christmas and March Break.
When cash prices and other rewards programs are typically high, you can many times book flights with Flying Blue miles to Mexico with WestJet for just 14,500 miles.
Book Flights with Flying Blue Miles with a Free Stopover
One of the most valuable features of the Flying Blue program is the ability to book flights with Flying Blue miles and add a free stopover on a one-way redemption with KLM and Air France.
You can book a flight with Flying Blue miles with one free stopover in Paris or Amsterdam and get two destinations for the same price. Keep in mind that you’ll pay the highest fare between the two regions you’re flying to.
One stopover is allowed per award, and it must be at least 24 hours long and up to one year long.
Simply find award availability for the two flight segments, then call Flying Blue to book your flight with Flying Blue miles.
We redeemed 60,0000 Flying Blue miles for a business class flight to Lisbon with Air France.
We were able to add Paris as a 3-day free stopover for the same number of miles.
This allowed us to explore both cities for the same low points rate.
Holding a Flight Booking with Flying Blue Miles
Flying Blue lets you place certain award flights on hold while you get your miles ready.
This is a unique feature and an added benefit that Aeroplan doesn’t offer.
You’ll need to call Flying Blue to request the hold. When available, the hold is typically valid for 48 to 72 hours. This gives you time to transfer American Express Membership Rewards points into your Flying Blue account before completing the booking.
Once your miles arrive, you can confirm and ticket the reservation at the same price you held.
We once found two business-class seats to Europe during peak summer.
Our Membership Rewards points from a large purchase hadn’t posted yet, so we called Flying Blue and placed the flights on a 48-hour hold.
The points posted the next day, we completed the booking, and secured the same great price without worrying that the seats would disappear.
Changing or Cancelling a Flight Booking with Flying Blue Miles
Unlike most low cash fares, where you’d lose the entire ticket, Flying Blue redemptions give you more flexibility when your travel plans change.
You can cancel your flight booking with Flying Blue miles for free within 24 hours.
After that, Flying Blue charges a €70 fee per person to change or cancel your ticket. You’ll still get all your miles, taxes, and fees refunded.
The fee is the same for economy, premium economy, and business class.
To make a change or cancellation, just go to “My Bookings” on the Air France or KLM website or app.
